My journey as a freelance writer began when I saw an advertisement in a local entertainment paper. They were seeking someone to write DVD reviews, for the chance to get free DVDs I figured why not. Next thing I knew they were sending me on interviews and movie screenings. Frankenstein was born – I began to seek out other freelance writing opportunities. Eventually I landed a job as the editor of a community newspaper in Dallas, Texas.
As an avid news consumer, I follow magazines, newspapers, and subject experts via social networking sites on a wide range of topics. I love learning new things and enjoy the research part of successful freelance writing.
My day job is as a social media manager where we help individuals and companies develop their digital strategy for Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
